Join Stephen West’s 2026 MKAL and knit a new mystery shawl alongside knitters from around the world. The design is inspired by the fragmented geometric shapes and reflective color contrasts of a kaleidoscope.
Color Kaleidoscope Shawl will be revealed in four clues. When you purchase the pattern, you will first receive an introductory PDF with all the project details and guidance for choosing your color palette. A new section will then be released each week throughout October.
As with every Westknits Mystery Knit Along, the final design remains a surprise while you knit. The pattern includes written instructions and supporting video tutorials for the different techniques.

Suggested needles: US 4 / 3.5 mm circular needle, 40 in / 100 cm long
Gauge: 24 stitches and 48 rows = 4 in / 10 cm in garter stitch after blocking
Additional materials: 2 split-ring markers, 16 stitch markers, waste yarn and a tapestry needle
