Description

Merino de la Patagonia Superfine is spun from the Merino fiber with the lowest micron count in our collection. At just 17.5 µ, it offers exceptional softness and is made to be worn directly against the skin.

Lightweight, warm, and comfortable, it is ideal for next-to-skin garments, cowls, shawls, and any project where we are looking for a yarn that feels especially soft and pleasant against the skin.

Its traceable Patagonian fiber comes from a verified regenerative source and is hand-dyed with natural dyes.

About the fiber

Verified regenerative origin. The fiber comes from Patagonian farms verified by Land to Market™, where measurable environmental outcomes such as soil health, biodiversity, and the water cycle are monitored.

The people who raise these flocks manage their land and animals by working with the cycles of nature, helping to create more diverse ecosystems, healthier soils, and a greater capacity for regeneration.

Quality and animal welfare. The wool is sourced directly from farms that meet OVIS XXI’s advanced wool-classing standards for Ultimate Merino Wool, as well as the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS).

The Ultimate Merino Wool designation identifies fiber that has been selected and classed at the source according to criteria for quality, traceability, and responsible management. These standards support practices that respect the sheep, the people, and the environment.

About the color

Our colored skeins are hand-dyed in small batches using natural dyes. This process may create subtle variations between skeins and dye lots, which are part of the unique character of each color.

You can learn more about this ancestral technique in our article: Hand-dyeing with natural dyes.

Care

Hand wash in cold water using a pH-neutral detergent made specifically for wool. Do not soak or wring. Lay flat to dry in the shade.
