Natural wool is a timeless material: with proper care, it can remain in perfect condition for years and even be passed down through generations. And when its life cycle finally comes to an end, it returns to the earth sustainably.

Wet Blocking Your Swatch or Project

Although we use dyeing techniques that fix the color in the yarn, natural dyes may experience slight color loss or bleeding. For this reason, we recommend doing a wash test before use, especially if you are combining it with natural or contrasting-colored yarns.

Washing Your Finished Piece or Garment

One of wool’s most remarkable qualities is its natural ability to repel dirt and odors. Instead of frequent washing, prioritize regular ventilation. Simply hang your wool garment in the shade to allow the fibers to breathe and refresh.

To preserve its properties, we recommend hand-washing with cold water and pH-neutral wool detergent, to prevent color alterations. Submerge the garment carefully, avoiding unnecessary stretching or twisting. Do not leave it soaking for an extended period. Do not use chlorine.

Drying

After hand-washing, handle your wool garments gently to protect their structure and durability. Press the garment gently against the side of the container to remove excess water, avoiding twisting. Then, place it on a clean towel on a flat surface, roll them together, and press lightly to absorb moisture.

Finally, lay the wool garment flat to dry in a well-ventilated area, away from heat sources or direct sunlight. Rotate it occasionally to maintain its shape and prevent stretching.

Avoid hanging garments, as the weight of the water may cause them to lose their shape or concéntrate colors. Do not use a dryer.

Storage

Store your skeins and garments in a dry place, protected from humidity, and away from heat sources or direct sunlight. To prevent moths, you can use lavender sachets or any other natural repellent. We recommend storing them in fabric bags or breathable boxes rather than airtight plastic containers.

General Care

To prevent pilling, minimize friction with rough surfaces and wash wool garments only when necessary. If pills appear, you can gently remove them by hand or with a special wool comb.

With these care tips, your yarns, projects, and garments will maintain their quality and beauty for a long time.
